It is not because the shoe runs small, but because I sometimes can't get half sizes in the shoes I want. So they are just a hair large, but they don't slip on my foot. I am 59 and no longer wear shoes with any amt. of heel and these shoes just work for me. They're casual and dressy if you want them to be. My experience has been that all the born flats are premium shoes and always feel & look great on my feet.

They are a bit stiffer leather and cut a little higher than some of the other Born flats I have purchased, so are not quite as comfortable. Also the gold is a bit brighter less subdued than I had anticipated. I won't send them back and they may surprise me, but at this point they are not my favorites as two other Born flats styles have been.

Reviewed by Sbmargo from Santa Barbara on Tuesday, April 23, 2013I liked these shoes, but they cut into my heels so badly they left scabs. The toe box did not hurt. I'm surprised about the heels, because I have a pair of Bjorne BØC flats that I can wear all day with no problems.
