For what it is, this bota bag is excellent. It's encased in leather, which makes it a bit heavier than just going with a bladder system. You'll also have to maintain the leather every once in a while. However, if you soak the leather in water, it keeps the contents cooler for a bit longer. You can remove the bladder for cleaning or freezing. We bought this to compliment a costume and it suits its role perfectly. It provides a ready source of cool water on a hot day while wearing a heavy woolen costume.

I remember these from hippie days. In this new era of "bottle your own", they're a reincarnation of the best design for an on-the-go water bottle. The bottle is very lightweight and it's a great fit - whether under your arm or jammed into a purse/briefcase.

good thing i have kids. product looks nice but that is about it. plastic taste will not wash out of liner. carry strap is thin and stretches. I was going to use it for hiking and camping but let the kids have it for a toy.

It is definintely sturdy, but does not collapse as well as some other bota bags I have gotten. It is definitely the toughest.

I bought this product as a gift for a soldier currently in Iraq. When I was there in the '90s I had one that was able to colapse as I was drinking. Since I kept the outter bag wet the fluids inside were kept cooler when the bag colapsed, than when I filled the bag with air. I did not realise that this was not this kind of bag.

Bought this cause it looked fun, and it is, but the quality was slightly sub-par. There was a chunk of plastic remaining in the drinking tube, likely a manufacturing defect, we could carve the plastic away and everything was fine but that was kind of annoying to do.

bought this bota beg to use when skiing. Bottle is too hard and would not collapse if you fall or use the liquid inside. I like the leather cover
