Boyt Harness

I was a little disappointed when I received this bag -- I was expecting better workmanship and materials. Also, the "pad" (term used very loosely) on the strap is useless, and if you want any protection from the strap, a separate strap pad should be purchased (I bought a Timbuk2 pad, and it works perfectly!). However, the way the included strap pad is attached, I am going to have to cut the leather to remove it (hate doing that to a brand new item, but it is not usable). I would not call the bag "heavy-duty," perhaps medium-duty (keeping in mind, I give my bags a LOT of hard use). On the bright side, the design features are quite nice, and make the bag easy/convenient to use.

The plastic quick release buckles are a very weak link. I purchased two of these (one as a gift), but I will be sending both back. The plastic buckles cannot easily be replaced for they are sewn into the case. Once they break you have a case you cannot close; and they will break for the buckles are of marginal quality. It is unfathomable why Boyt would make fake leather straps backed with cheap plastic buckles. Why not make real leather straps and customers too lazy to buckle a real leather strap would purchase another case with cheap quick release buckles. The individuals with the cheap plastic buckles could then throw the case away with all of their other short-term commercial products. I plan to call Boyt for they normally do not make products with junk components and design. The rest of the case would last for years but without the buckles that durability is moot.

easy to carry

Listen....you usually get what you pay for. This is no exception. This Boyt is a classic looking, functional but basic canvas and leather briefcase. For this user, a good value price wise but is lacking in some basic briefcase appointments such as a padded section for Laptop protection and it has no built in pen holders. The plastic quick release on the leather straps are a plus vs. the traditional unbuckle method and here is hoping that they are durable for the long haul. The padded shoulder strap is comfortable enough. Metal zippers and metal quick release on the leather straps would have been nice. It will get the job done and should last for some years under normal wear and tear perhaps gaining more class with age. Time will tell the tale on this Boyt closeout. fish

Great product and price.

I ordered the green color collar for our dog and was so thrilled by the quality and true to color look, that I got another one in the bright Orange for when hunting season comes around again. Our dog is a Stafshire Terrier with a thick neck and she's very strong. It works on her and she looks especially cute with the gold metal as opposed to the usual silver hardware. I think her doggy friends in the neighborhood are envious :)

Very nice and durable. I bought it in orange because I wanted the little extra visability when we were in the woods. If you grew up in orange like I did, you'll appreciate the look like I do.
