    These are not bulky, thick socks, but a great base layer that also work well without over-socks. They are form-fitting, and among the few socks I've found that are a true "medium" in size. No extra fabric to bunch up around toes or heels like with the "one size fits nobody" socks I usually have to settle for. They also look great when lounging about after-activity!

    These are just the ticket for my tight, hard to get into boots. I agree with others that they aren't really midweight but rather more light for a ski sock, but unless it gets really cold these will probably be great. I am between an 9 and 9 1/2 (27.5 boot) size and I ordered the Medium, and they are big enough but just barely. I didn't want any extra material but if you are 9 1/2 or larger get the Large.

    Mid-weight it is not. This is a light weight over the calf wool sock. It is comfortable but does not provide adequate cushioning to be a good hiking or ski sock.
