(in a 45 size). i must have 6 pair right now.

Imagine my surprise when he came into my sewing room after he played golf and started asking about these socks!! He wanted to know where I got them- how much they cost- if there was a catalog to order them and what colors they came in !!!! " I REALLY like these socks". Guess I better buy some more.

The reinforced areas (around the ankles) means that the material has double the weave density - not that the area has double the thickness. The thickness of the sock overall, is about the same as a normal pair of white athletic socks (medium). The top of the socks are wrapped with a layer of tightly woven material that prevents the socks from fraying. My foot is a size 12, I purchased the L size (11-12.5). They fit perfectly without me having to stretch them to bring the heel into place. They are warm, not itchy, and very comfortable. A quality product for a great price.

I bought these for a woman who was bed-bound and she loved them because they were warm and stayed-put on her feet as she moved under the covers.

Same Bridgedale quality as I'm used to, should perform as expected next winter. I have a big drawer full of Bridgedale, a sock for all seasons, all good and durable.
