I'm using them primarily for casual use - they're more comfortable and warmer than your run of the mill cotton socks, but they prevent odor better (and are much more comfortable than!) other "dress" socks. I imagine they would work really well as hiking/running socks also.

My only concern is that they might wear out quickly. I love the height - tall enough to wear with mid-rise boots but not too tall to wear with low shoes. Plus, I really like the color.

Have four pairs of these for 3 years now and they have held up well. Liked them so much I sent these to my sis, who also loves them for her trail shoes.
