I did the whole trail, 2176mi, with just these two pair of socks. Through five months of continuous use I did manage to wear a very small hole in the heel of one sock. I continued using the other pair for two more years before ceremoniously retiring them. I have since bought a few more pairs as well as some other Bridgedale socks and I cannot say enough about how great they are. And at the STP price they are a steal.
