This is a thick, warm scarf---the green check color has checks on one side and solid green on the other side. It doesn't bother me but thought I'd point it out.

For some reason my skin is quite sensitive to wool, and although this is pretty good quality, it's a bit scratchy for me. Not enough to really bother me, but it's not going to be as soft as cashmere.
I'd recommend this brand, especially if you don't have overly sensitive skin.
