I am a 30 mile a week runner and these are my speed shoes.I use them for fast tempos and track workouts. They are also my 5k and 10k racing shoe. I hope they do not change the style of this shoe.

I switched to the Launch after some nagging injuries as a result of the minimalist movement. I have high arches and some leg length descrepancies, so these were a good compromise for support, speed, and utility. I run triathlons and marathons and the high road milage requires a thicker shoe - at least for me. The Launch is well structured, breathable and not too heavy or bulky that it makes them a liability. This is my second pair. What I have found is that you need a thich pair of socks to wear with them, so buy a half size larger than you need. When worn without socks, I get blisters on my small toe even after only 4 miles. As well, the high back can cause rubbing, blistering and even bleeding if you do not have socks to protect there. Knowing all of this, I am happy with this shoe as a heavy duty trainer and for higher milage races. I will still use minimalist shoes for shorter distance races. Brooks is a great brand.

Hadn't tried Brooks before, but found the toe box to be too narrow for my taste. If not for that, they'd have been great.

Very comfortable lightweight performance trainer. I've used these shoes for short speed work, tempo runs, and 20 milers just love them. Just enough cushion for the long runs but you still get some road feel. This is my second pair, put over 500 miles on the last ones and only wore down the sole a bit. Great shoe for my high arch and mid foot strike while running.
