Brooks Cadence have been my favorite running shoes since they 1st came out. The differences between all the Pure Project shoes are small but noticeable. Cadence have wider toe box and I don't feel the pod underneath pressing into my foot. Cushion and responsiveness are in a great balance

Excellent shoe and fit. I love the minimalist feel yet it has the stability features for my mild-moderate overpronation. Recently ran a marathon in this pair and will do so again!

Outstanding running shoe that resuscitated my running career. Without them I wouldn't be running today.

Tried on 10 different shoe models at a running store last year when I had severe heel and Achilles' pain in my left foot that had left me sidelined frmo running for five months, the hope being to find a shoe that allowed me to walk pain free. This shoe was the only one I tried that allowed me not only to walk pain free, but to run pain free. This shoe naturally changed the striking point on my foot. With this shoe I land on my forefeet. With all other shoes I tried, including Asics Kayano, Saucony Kinvara, and eight other models from major manufacturers (Nike, Adidas, ...) I was a natural heel striker. In fact, for five months prior to finding the Brooks Pure Cadence 2 shoes I could not run because of the pain in my heel. This shoe enabled me to run again pain free. It didn't make the plantar fasciitis go away. It just made it so it didn't hurt to run because I no longer land on my painful heel. The background pain and ache have diminished greatly since I no longer aggravate it. Now I barely notice the PF any more. The pain free running and change of running form have given me a new lease on running and fitness activities, which trace back to finding this shoe. I own several pairs and put a couple away in case they change the design in the future. Just a quick note that if you change your running form to lean forward from the ankles while still standing tall and make ground contact on your forefeet instead of heels, there is an adjustment period of a couple of months where you'll feel your calves doing more work. Your calves will adjust to it and in the long haul you'll be a more efficient, healthier and happier runner. Oh, and be sure to incorporate a good set of warm up exercises before every run (mountain climbers, glute kicks, lunges, front and side leg swings) to help stay injury free.

The orange soled version has more of a gray upper, not the white appearance in the picture. I was pleased with the gray, white shoes get dirty too fast where I live. I loved the previous (#1) PureCadence shoe for it's wide toe box, low profile and cushion. It also felt light and fast for a stability shoe, while the neon yellow/green color was great for being seen at night, it kind of hurt my eyes. The PureCadence 2 has the same build but a narrower lacing system and toe box. We'll see how this plays out as my toenails get banged up pretty bad in a narrow toe shoe. So far I'm quite pleased.

I am a huge fan of the PureCadence 1. I've been in the PureCadence 2 for about a month now and they feel great. Wasn't sure what to think about the updates but so far they have all worked out well for me. I can't say that the changes made to the PureCadence 2 were necessary because when the rubber meets the road it's about the same ride. The 2s do have a wider toe box which I wasn't sure about for my narrow feet, but the nav band and lacing system provide a snug fit while I've grown accustomed to the wider toe box and actually like it quite a bit.

These are definitely lightweight minimalist running shoes. Follow the suggested guide and order them 1/2 size larger than your normal size.
