I love the warmth and lightness of down, but am not a fan of synthetic shells. When weight isn't an issue, it's hard to beat the cotton flannel for comfort. When I car camp I prefer to use sheets and blankets over sleeping bags, so I unzip this and use it as an extra pad on top of two Thermarests to create a comfy nest for two.

This is a nice sturdy base camp sleeping bag. It's too heavy for backpacking, but it's long and roomy and more importantly comfortable. Sleeping in the Kodiak is like sleeping under my grandmother's quilts, no light weight, nylon, get trapped in a mummy bag for me! ( Unless, of course, I am going backpacking.)

I needed a warm sleeping bag and found it! But what I usually hate is how small they are. This one has plenty of room to stretch out in! I can sleep with my leg pulled up and there's no problem turning over. I liked it so much I bought a second one. It is a heavy bag, and bulky to store.

Everything about this bag was correct -very warm-well made fit with extra room. Only thing I didn't like was I couldn't compact it enough for taking camping on long 3 to 7 day hikes. Can handle the weight but not the size. Being 62 I needed the extra warmth but also needed to be able to pack it well. Great bag wish they could make it lighter and keep the warmth factor. A must for day hiker-use in car,
When zipped together there would be a rounded section on each side, if they are zipped together with the insides in. One person would have the rounded side in their face, the other would be behind the other person's head.
