My son is 11 and large for his size, so I ordered a 14-16 thinking it would be ample and his winter coat for next year, as well. The coat came in and it barely fit him now. So, I sent it back for the size larger (18-20). Surprisingly, the coat was not that much larger, it fits, but I don't think it will fit next year. Also, the feathers are poking through the lining and it is very uncomfortable for my son. Not sure if we will return the coat at this point...but the idea was to get a coat at the end of this season (on sale) that he can wear next year - don't think that's going to be the case. Disappointed.

this was for my 12 year old son (who is at the 50 percentale for ht and wt) I decided on size 16 because of the other reviews, and I am glad I did as the sizing is small the size 16 fits, and I am unsure if it will be ok next year. The fill is very lightweight, it is not by my estimate 65- weight, it is quite light weight. The test will be in March when we are in Utah

My son is a size 16 and the 18/20 just fits him! When I took this jacket out of the box I thought they must have forgotten to put the down in. I've since realized it must just have been packed very tightly at some point. After fluffing in dryer per tag and later washing, it is now clearly insulated, but perhaps a little lightly, esp. in the lower channels. There are only two pockets and they are not warm! The hunter-boy style is the best selling point for my son.

We just moved to a cold clime and my son loved how warm my down jacket was so we bought him this one as it had the same fill power as mine. I'm not sure it is a 650 fill power. Maybe it is, but I couldn't verify it on any of the labels. He says it's as warm as mine, but it isn't very puffy. It was flat out of the box, but we followed retailer instructions and fluffed it in the dryer for 15 min and it fluffed some. My son loves it.

Although other reviewers haven't noted the sizing problem, the jacket we received was nowhere close to an XL (18-20). My son normally wears a size 16; his wrists stick out of the sleeves of this coat and I doubt he'll make it through the rest of the winter with it. Shame, because it is a nice jacket, warm, and well constructed. This is the second Browning jacket we've gotten with major sizing issues; the size 14-16 fleece was more like a 10-12.
