I wore these pants four days straight on an elk hunt opening week in MT and on numerous daily deer hunts throughout the season. Overall the pants are well made and somewhat quiet. The first two days of the elk hunt were spring like temps. I wore a silk-weight base layer and got pretty warm, but the pants vented well. On the second night the snow came, dropping about 6" and the temps plummeted in to the teens and slowly rose to low 30s by mid-day. The wind was howling too. I wore these pants again with a silk-weight base layer and was very comfortable, even while sitting/kneeling in the snow. I did not get wet. The pants blocked the bitter cold wind with no problem. The fourth day brought even lower temps and more snow so I wore a medium weight base layer and was comfortable throughout the day.
I did a lot of walking and this is where the pants lost 1/2 a star. The cut of the pants is not very roomy in the waist/hip/thigh area like a cargo or BDU style pant making walking long distances not as comfortable as it could be. The pants also lost 1/2 a star because of the high cut waist which makes using a belt almost useless because it would be up too high- around the belly-button. I wore suspenders which is less than ideal. The last day I wore these pants I was hunting deer in frigid temps, gusty wind and snow- the thermometer read 10deg when we parked the truck but the wind-chill factor was much lower. We set up with a 1/2hr before legal shooting hours and sat there overlooking a small field. I wore the silk and medium weight base layers. The pants held up and kept me dry and warm.

These pants are just what I needed. They kept me warm, dry and comfortable throughout my Colorado Elk hunt. The high back waistband is ideal for keeping out unwanted drafts, while sitting on a hillside glassing the draws in the early mornings. They stayed compleatly water and wind proof throughout my 7 day hunt where we experienced temps from 60deg to 10deg range, with rain, hail, sleet, and snow. I would recommend these pants to anyone hunting cold nasty weather, or mild... Great for all circumstances.

I'm 5'11" 170 and the medium was very large. Other than that, the only complaint i have is the snap button in front instead of a rivet. I always feel like rivets are more durable. The overall functionality of the pants seem great although I haven't had them out in the field yet. I returned my original order, but am considering ordering a small.

I ordered a large, 35 to 39, first. They were small. I usually ware a 34, and with a midweight layer on they were tight. I exchanged them for a extra large, they are really big. I kept the xl and use them like a pair of bibs. The high back is a good feature. I have used them as a outer layer in below zero weather and found them to work well, breath well, and are wind proof.

These pants are built well and are extremely breathable for being waterproof and lined. The zippered legs have waterproof extension, which help the pants cover thick boot tops. I've read that they seem sized small, but seem true-to-size for me. I'm 6'1, 178lbs and the medium fits perfectly, just a little loose in the waist (i'm a 32"). Block the wind like crazy! The only complaint I have is the button closure. I ordered one pair and the button came apart. I used a pair of pliers to squeeze the two base pieces together and it has held together. I ordered a second pair 1-2 weeks later and had to repeat the process. Evidently a bad batch.
