For me if there is no coffee there is no reason to get up in the morning. I bought the Brunton one because I respect their products and two because it is PERFECT to use in my little RV camper. Easier and more convenient than my french press and I believe it uses propane more efficiently than on my stove. I can plumb it directly in to my large tanks or keep it portable with the 1lb tank. The only thing not in the description is the fact that the ignition system runs on 2 "D" batteries? Batteries do last long, but I live miles from nowhere. Thank goodness for the power of the sun.

This is a pretty intuitive machine, which is good, because the directions absolutely suck. There are lights that do different things when things are going wrong/right, but no definition of them. So, here is the secret - you will hear it and know when it is brewing - otherwise the lights are telling you that something is not working. However, it all didn't take long to figure out and the coffee was good and strong. Use paper filters if you want quicker cleanup at a campsite.

Nice gadget. I set it up with a 10 lb tank that we also use for our grill. We have a small camper and like to boondock but the french press doesn't make enough coffee or keep it hot. The water chamber does need to be full (more than one pot of water) to get a full pot of coffee, although not all the water is used so that is the reason for the drain plug--also not mentioned in the directions. The high setting seems to require frequent re-lighting, you can hear the gas whoosh quit momentarily and the click that the gas has been relit. I'm guessing medium and low won't cut out as much but will take longer to brew the pot. There is no explanation of when to use any setting but High in the directions. A full pot takes about 15 minutes to brew. It comes with an expensive thermal pot and reusable wire coffee basket but the battery cover is flimsy and seems as if it could easily get lost in the wilds. I like the carrying case. It protects the machine and makes it easier to store. I hope it lasts because I'll be so spoiled by a full pot of morning coffee, I'll want another one if it breaks.

This thing looks awesome and should be the greatest thing since the electric auto drip coffee maker. I got the unit and everything was there and in great shape. no damage on the box. followed the instructions filled with water, hooked up the propane, put in the batteries, ect. Unit will not light. Played with it for an hour with high hopes but no fire. I tried 2 brand new cylinders with no luck. So the back of the instructions say lifetime warrenty... I call brunton and with out delay the sen me a brand new one, this one says primus and is black. Well the new one ights for about one second then goes out. Now its been a month and I cant get a hold of the tech support... My guess is junk regulators. Dont waste you life on this thing. I sent it back.
