Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

A very fine bin. but would be more satisfactory for those who's activities are more travel oriented, and require compactness. For most, this "higher end" bin.(in this size) isn't worth the extra cost. And to my eyes, the "variable focus" feature was unnoticable, prob. due to the balky and small focus wheel. Can't fault Brunton for trying this market niche, but they just weren't suitable for me, so I sent them back.
