Brunton LED Flashlight-Lantern Lamplight

I like the fact that you can switch from a beam to a lantern. This is my backup light for camping trips now. Love it.

Very small lantern uses regular batteries

Nice small light. Bright enough to light your way but not a search light but if you expect that from a 3AA battery light, you shouldn't go out in the dark.

great all purpose light. fits easily in pocket or pack. I hang it in my tent for general lighting at night.(strap is included)

Great little backpacking light. There ARE lighter alternatives but at 4 times the price.

We mostly use this product around the house or in the car. At home, its torch mode (entered by sliding the globe along the length of the light) will be a safer alternative to a candle during power outages. The light is stable while standing on its end on a counter top. It has one of those HB (high brightness) LEDs I believe...so it's very bright. The beam is well focused and I'd compare it's brightness to a 2-cell MagLite with an incandescent (non-LED) bulb. The battery compartment is sealed with an o-ring. I don't know this for sure, but the entire light could be waterproof, or at least it's water resistant. STP's website didn't say it's waterproof. The only con for this flashlight: the on-off switch is difficult to operate. Once you get the hang of it, it's okay and the knurled surfaces definitely help in this regard. I think it's become easier to operate after a few operations.

This flashight is used mostly for camping and hiking. Light and compact, but puts out a serious beam. Torch function is great as a tent light. Textured grip is great when hands are wet. Great battery life. Battery compartment is a little confusing when installing. Brightness in not adjustable.

Very impressed with the little light. Gives off a strong beam of light and the lantern feature is very handy - not exactly bright enough to read by but certainly enough light to illuminate the interior of a 2-person tent. Have seen it priced much higher [$])on other websites that cater to backpackers. Smokin' deal!
