Brunton PED-Cardio IR Heart Rate Monitor/Pedometer

I didn't learn from reading the other reviews. I bought it for cardio readings. It has the most inconsistant readings I have ever seen.

Nice size, easy to use

I purchased several. The instructions aren't great but we managed to figure it out. Seems to work well & seems to count steps accurately as long as it is in a level position top to bottom & side to side. The instructions recommend wearing it on your hip. The second day of wearing it the back battery cover/clothing clip piece broke at the single screw atachment point at the top of the cover when it bumped the arm of my husband's office chair as he sat down. If the back cover had a screw at the bottom & top of the cover the entire unit may have just slid off his waistband rather than pry the front up while the cover/clip remained attached resulting in failure at the cover screw. Bummed that it only held up for less than two days use! Otherwise seems like a good product, but the instruction to wear it on the hip makes the attachment of the back cover/clip vunerable to failure during the action of sitting down. Also wearing it on the hip didn't work for me as a curvy female as it didn't allow the unit to be level enough to accurately count steps.

Great bang for the buck.

The warnings say that this unit is sensitive to shock and moisture - I plan to return it because a pedometer is going to experience both routinely.
