I bought this lantern based on positive reviews on another website compared to the battery-operated Coleman lantern. Obviously I didn't read the specs very carefully as I was quite surprised at the lantern's small size when it arrived. However, I decided that maybe small is good and took it along on a weekend car campout. I was able to clip the lantern onto the shockcord inside the tent to light it at night, as well as use it outside the tent to sit on a table or clip it to a canopy. The small size came in very handy. Light output was not as high as a "regular" size lantern, but was adequate for general lighting or to see well enough to play cards at a table if the lantern was sitting in the middle of the table. I also appreciate that the lantern calls for 3 C batteries rather than the 8 D batteries the coleman calls for. The batteries were even included with the lamp. I don't know that I would bring this lamp along with me on a backpacking trip, but I might be tempted- it does seem quite portable. I'm glad I was able to buy it at a reduced price- I might have felt more cheated by the size had I paid the retail price, which I was contemplating doing. Overall, I am happy with this little lantern and glad that things worked out the way they did.

This is a nice little lantern. I thought it would be bigger but the light output is pretty good and it's easy to transport and store. I've used it in the house already when we didn't have power. It will be great for tent camping.

I bought the product for my 12 year old to use for her summer camp. The lantern was very small and I had problems loading the batteries. Once I got the batteries in the lantern did not work. I returned it for a refund.

I've used it for blackouts. So bright that more than one person can read by it handsfree.
