It is a good thing the landmark II have a lifetime warranty because I just sent them back for the fourth time in about 7 years. The eye piece adjustment has broke on each pair that I've had. The focus broke on the last pair and the binoculars were not dropped. They are sending me a new pair of Steiners since the companies have now merged and indicated they will be much better.

I have two pairs now, the 8x and 10x and was quick to buy the 10x today when I learned Burris is closing out this line. I used the 8x last Fall for hunting in Montana in all kinds of weather and was very pleased, ultimately using them versus my Steiner compacts due to superior optics, which really surprised me. The form of the binoculars is really good for using over long periods of time.

The focus on the right side went out one day after I took them out of the box and on to a birding trip to Vietnam. The bioculars were not dropped or jarred. So here I am in Vietnam, on a birding trip with a monocular instead of binoculars. I bought them because other game wardens I work with had good luck with them in the field on daily us. I may have gotten the rotten one. Hard to deal with when you just spent $1500 on a plane ticket and a $1000 on birding trip.
