Bought this jacket after trying several others (and sending them back). It's the right combination of heavy-duty waterproofing, style, and fit. I'm a skier, but I like the looser fit of snowboard gear, and this fits right in between--enough room for layering without yards of excess fabric flapping around. I'm 5'11", athletic build, with a 42" chest, and size large fits great, with enough room to layer for colder days...but as sturdy and bombproof as the Gore-Tex fabric is, it doesn't seem like it's going to take much layering to stay warm in this bad boy. The only downside is that the arms are incredibly long. I guess this is because snowboarders want to wrap the Velcro strap around their hands, but, as a skier, I'd like it if they were an inch or two shorter. The cammo pattern is nice--subtle enough not to be too militaristic, but stylish enough to look cool. Can't wait to put this jacket to the test on the slopes. Derailed had the best price, especially if you take a few minutes to search for a promo code online. Got it for over $100 less what everybody else was charging!

About Burton

One name will always remain synonymous with the snowboarding movement, and that name is Burton. Back in 1978, the sport of snowboarding was virtually unknown and completely on the fringe, but Jake Burton quit his day job to make snowboards in his living room anyway. By the 1980s, Burton snowboards were helping people discover a totally new and exhilarating way to carve the snow. More than thirty years later, Burton snowboards and bindings are still leading the industry with cutting-edge technologies and killer-looking designs, as are Burton boots. On the slopes, Burton jackets and pants are made to help you beat the elements and look great doing it. Long live winter.
