Burton Sanctuary Jacket - Soft Shell (For Women)

This jacket is awesome as a winter coat to wear to work and out and about. I wear a larger jacket snowboarding, snowshoeing etc bc this jacket would suck to try to move much in, but I am 5'1, 135, DD and I fit great in a M with a sweater or whatever underneath this jacket. It is SO cute, looks different than anyone elses jacket and gets lots of compliments. Its warm and awesome - just NOT for actual snowsport.

This is such an amazing jacket. It's warm, functional, and stylish! Do keep in mind that it seems to run a bit small or maybe the style is 'slim fit?' I ordered a large to be on the safe side and good thing I did because it fit just perfectly. When I first got this jacket, I couldn't help but wear it every time I went out into the cold & rain. The teddy bear, soft fur on the inside keeps you nice and cozy. The only thing this jacket is missing are those hand warmers that come out from the sleeve and hook on your thumb to keep your hands a little bit warmer.

This jacket feels like it will hold up to just about anything. It does feel heavy and a little stiff, but I'm pretty sure it will hold up to being brushed by tree branches and if I catch is on a rail or box it isn't going to rip. The sleeve length is extra long which I love and the overall length in the back is great! No snow where snow does not belong. I don't think I would have been happy with it if I paid full price, but on-sale it is a great deal.

I got this jacket on sale, even though it felt bulky on at first. Surprisingly it gets a lot of use in San Francisco because of our rainy season in February, I find myself reaching for it whenever I leave the house. Its the only jacket I have which is mostly waterproof (no sealed seams, but does the job), looks casual enough to wear everyday without putting on my gore tex, and is compact to fit into my backpack on trips. The fleecy fur lining is very warm, just right for 45 plus weather, and underarm zippers let out heat when needed. Although as mentioned, I found the fit to be bulky, its nice to have a durable construction softshell which will not get destroyed if I fall on my motorcycle. The stiff fabric has softenned over time and I have gotten used to the fit. I am usually a small in other brands, sometimes a medium. In Burton I range between the two, and got a medium, perfect fit. Essentially a durable, thick softshell good for rainy hikes, motorcycle rides and wet snowboarding, with a stylish color and fit and a shaped hood which will keep you dry no matter what!

I'm a pretty average XS but found the arms on this jacket a problem: they were super long and really restricted movement. I suppose if you were walking around with a latte it would be fine but driving a car, skiing, waving your arms, not so good.
