“This is not a night vision monocular, it's more like a Infra-Red monocular. Without IR lighting it does not work. It also has a very narrow viewing area. You cannot see a big area and must constantly refocus the device when moving it from one area to another. However, it works very well with the IR beam projected from the device. I used it in a cave with absolutely no light and could see everything I pointed the device at. If you are after a proper night sight piece, this is not it. I served in the Army and used proper night sight equipment before and this is nothing like that. However, if you are looking for something to have a look at what's going on in your backyard at night or maybe while camping, what's lurking in the dark, it will serve you well. Hope this helps.”
