“Only good to 300 yards”

By GearSkepticVerified Reviewer from Salt Lake City, UT on 10/14/2009
Pros:
Compact, Lightweight
Cons:
Limited Range, Unstable
Best Uses:
Archery hunting
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
“I purchased the Bushnell Yardage Pro, with the intention of using it for rifle big game hunting in the Western U.S. I was sorely disappointed in its performance in both sunny and cloudy conditions, with and without snow, in the Utah mountains. I was unable to get a reading for objects beyond 325 yards, whether trees or ground, with or without snow cover. 280 yards was the limit of its ability to consistently range. From 280 to 325, I could only sometimes get a reading. If you plan use it to establish your maximum ethical range at 300 yards or less, or hunt only archery, I suppose this product could be of some use, but past 300 it's useless. I'm returning it.”
