    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    This is a really beautiful bird feeder, although somewhat small. I haven't seen any birds using it yet, though, so can't comment on whether the sunflower seed-sized holes work or not. The only other thing I've noticed is when I come home I see the ceramic top kind-of tipped off and hanging lopsided on the top of the feeder. I don't know if a squirrel is causing that or not. Time will tell.

    the description implies that all types of bird seed will fit ("allow(s) for seeds as big as") but in fact regular mixes won't work as the smaller seeds fall out as soon as one sunflower is eaten leaving the space open for those in back of it.
