    I wear a 34 waist and ordered the XL (listed as 40 waist). They seem to fit me perfectly (prior to washing, we'll see what happens thereafter). Unless there's a terrible quality control or labeling problem I can't imagine anyone would think these run too large in the waist. They are what they purport to be: lounge wear. They should be excellent for kicking around the house in warm to hot weather.

    NOT going out pants. strictly for house potatos or sleeping. Runs very small. Order 2 sizes up if possible. Not only was the waist tight...but the legs and butt area were restricting. I ordered a large and could use a xxlarge. Gave them to my daughter in college. She loves them They are high quality...features pockets and drawstring..gets softer with washes.
