Calida Soft Cotton Nightshirt - Long Sleeve (For Women)

Calida lives up to it's name...I have been purchasing for 20 years

Haven't worn or washed yet. No problems foreseen.

This Calida nightgown is very well designed and constructed. Calida is an outstanding brand, and I would rank this gown much higher in quality than what I likely find if I went to buy a white cotton gown at major department stores. This is a departure from my normal choice of nightwear, but I wanted something for winter that was warm, easy to wear and wash. I have not washed the gown yet, so I can't yet say that it washes well. I was inspired to purchase this gown for its "old-fashioned" look... a throw-back to the nightwear I love in period movies like Little Women. The gown would successfully fulfill that desired image, except for an embroidered flower on the upper left chest... it makes the gown "old-lady" instead of the desired simple, clean, "old-fashioned" look I desired. Beyond that, the design is excellent; the tucking on the chest is very well done. Be aware this gown is slightly sheer, another con, as this was a nightgown I was hoping to be able to wear with ease in front of my family or overnight visitors. That coupled with the old-lady embroidery motif has relegated this to the sleeping-alone category of nightwear. Also, it does run large by normal misses sizing standards. I'm 5'4" and 150lbs and the small fits me perfectly; it's loose without being baggy. (Note that my ranking in the summary as "feels to big" reflects that I would normally be wearing a size medium or large.) Sleeve length is quite fine on my frame and the gown hits at low to mid calf.

I bought this because I wanted a long-sleeve T-shirt type nightshirt down to my knees, which are kind of hard to come by in just a regular store around where we live. This is not really a "nightshirt" - it's more what I would call a "night gown" and a little more "old-lady" than I prefer (my husband actually said it looks like what people in an asylum would wear and my daughter said I look like a ghost). It's also very thin and quite see-thru (like a thin cotton T-shirt would be). However, I still wear it because it's incredibly soft and comfortable. And that's the bottom line for me! I bought it on sale - the regular list price is utterly ridiculous for a cotton night gown.

I recently found out that Calida sleepwear was considered superior to other brands. I found you have an excellent selection at excellent prices. I am hooked on Calida and Sierra.

I've never purchased any of Calida's products except their nightgowns or night shirts, but they are always top quality and very, very comfortable.

This nightshirt runs very large. The sleeves were at least 6" too long for me. The white fabric is rather sheer and you can see right through it. I had to return this.
