I purchased the Caphalon Accucore Dutch Oven for myself. It is a nice, sturdy, but not too heavy oven. I am very impressed with how evenly it heats and how well it cooks. It is also well-made.It has quickly become my favorite piece of cooking equipment!

I bought this pot to replace a 3 quart Tramontina pot that I use to make chili and soup.. I loved the sturdy base that cooks evenly without burning. I thought that this, at 5 quarts might be a bit big, but I love it.. use it almost every day I am in the kitchen now that it is soup season. I also use it to make frittata in the oven- it cleans up pretty easily. Pamphlet which accompanies it suggests not using baking soda to clean it. I think/ hope that this applies only to non-stick pans as I do need something to scrub it with that will not scratch it and baking soda seems to do the job. This is not a non-stick pan.

About Calphalon

Founded in 1963 in Perrysburg, Ohio, Calphalon began when Ron Kasperzak decided to create a better line of aluminum cookware products. Within five years, Ron’s company began using hard anodizing technology originally created for the aerospace industry, and by 1976 Calphalon professional hard anodized cookware officially entered the retail market. Calphalon non-stick cookwear debuted in 1992, and the company has continued to innovate newer and better products for the home gourmet ever since. If you demand professional-quality cookware at a consumer price point, Calphalon pots and Calphalon pans will not disappoint.
