We have been looking for a Dutch oven for quite a while. This fits the bill very well. High quality and just the right size.

I have some other Calphalon products (one pot that is really big, and another one that is smaller than this one). When I saw this pot on STP, it seemed like a nice in-between size that I didn't currently own. This pot is not quite as heavy-duty as my other calphalon products, which was a little bit of a disappointment. Even at STP prices, it seemed like an expensive pot. But overall, i'm sure it is a fine. I've only used it a couple times so far and have no real complaints. I guess I just expected it to be the same quality as my other calphalon pots and it seems a bit lighter.

About Calphalon

Founded in 1963 in Perrysburg, Ohio, Calphalon began when Ron Kasperzak decided to create a better line of aluminum cookware products. Within five years, Ron’s company began using hard anodizing technology originally created for the aerospace industry, and by 1976 Calphalon professional hard anodized cookware officially entered the retail market. Calphalon non-stick cookwear debuted in 1992, and the company has continued to innovate newer and better products for the home gourmet ever since. If you demand professional-quality cookware at a consumer price point, Calphalon pots and Calphalon pans will not disappoint.
