If this were a car, it could cost $100,000. We do wish that it could be used for hot beverages as well as cold, but that takes nothing away from what it DOES do.

Makes running and drinking a lot easier. Also perfect for those days your arm is too tired to tip up a bottle in the early morning on your way to work ;) I have bought these for multiple people now so mine stops coming up missing.

Answer Yes you can. I put mine in the closed basket part of my dishwasher. Never be afraid of breaking any the straw or the top to your bottle. Camelbak's have a lifetime guarantee and if you go on their website, they will send you a replacement lid or straw if you need it. When my straw and the little plastic flip piece broke on one of my better bottles, they sent me a new lid AND straw. They won me over. Now, the only bottles we will buy ARE Camelbaks because we know they stand by their products. With 5 kids, we need quality products that are meant to last!

Answer It is stainless steel for sure, I know metal. Experienced machinest and gunsmith. There are other bottles in Al more common than ss. Mine are ss.
