I bought this primarily for day hikes, and secondarily for cross-country skiing. The material is heavier duty than I expected - I would have liked it to be lighter so it wouldn't weigh as much. I also thought it was going to be a little bit larger, but it is pretty good sized for a camelbak. I agree with the other reviewer who suggested an external strap to tie down a jacket or whatever would be useful. I like that the tube for the bladder can be kept inside the sleeve of the shoulder strap when not in use - keep it from freezing and from damage and from leaking.

Although the primary design of this pack is for use in the snow, it worked great for me during hiking in eastern southern CA in June (can get hot!). This pack did great, fit in all my essentials just perfect, although an extra external strap to tie a sweater down would have been also useful. The tri-zip and pockets are very useful, nothing will fall out if secured properly. There's an extra little pocket to get small things (keys, maps) quickly. I also like the design a lot. It's very feminine, but doesn't over-do it, and the dark purple allows you to conveniently get it dirty w/o having to wash it too soon :). As for the water/bladder part, I liked it, but it's how Camelbaks usually are in this aspect. I got this for an excellent price compared to what it usually retails for. If you can too, don't miss out on the opportunity.

I bought this CamelBak back to use on the bike portion during my triathlon races. I failed to read the dimension details before purchasing and upon delivery I was excited and a tad bit disappointed at the same time. That was 100% my fault due to my lack of paying attention to details. Although I can't wear this during a race (it's too big and would slow me down), it's PERFECT for day hikes!

Bought it as an early summer gift for my wife. IT's totally unique and she loves it. Great for day hiking.
