    This is an older design. It does not have the no-snag key-lock; instead it has the older style gate with a notch. It is also a bit heavy. Other than that it is a nice product.

    The fact is that this will definitely lock itself for you. However, I just don't like how it does it. It's kind of a pain to open...other auto locking carabiners are better. It might be the direction it twists. I'm not sure. But, I do use it occasionally for indoor climbing just to make sure it stays locked (I got my belay card taken because of this once).

    This is the first auto-lock carabiner I've owned and I felt the auto lock was difficult to use. you need two hands to open it and I feel a screwgate lock is easier. I did fall once and the scratches were definitely noticeable. The auto lock imo was hard to open but would close smoothly without getting stuck.
