This jacket has the best the outdoor market has to offer like waterproof RiRi zippers or c_change membrane. A few improvements would make it a steal for this price: the drawcord on the hood and waist is a bit weak for the tough artic shell nylon, a chin protector for the zipper, anatomic elbows, or better sealing of the pocket zippers (they may be waterproof, but when zipped up the pocket is not fully protected from the top). Also, the shell material feels a bit rigid like a hard canvas. Given that other comparable jackets retail for much more, I would probably still recommend it, although this jacket is more suitable for walking around town than skiing.

This Jacket is solid! Very durable and I love the material. It is seamless against the rain and wind. I am tall and slender and the medium fit my arms great and was long enough. I don't think I will ever have to buy new rain gear for a long time.

Bought the CG Tofino after researching the scores of waterproof, breathable jackets on the market. Plan to wear it during a 100km wilderness race in low mountain terrain with temperatures ranging from 0 - 15 celcius. The bonus is that it is smart enough to wear as a casual winter jacket. Note that the bomber cut might be too short for boarding.

This jacket rocks-extrememely well made. An example of great domestic manufacturing. You will rock out with this one.

Although, even with the great Sierra Tradingpost discount, this jacket is on the high end for cost, I've found good quality rainwear often isn't cheap. And if you're going to be out in that type of element for long periods of time, perhaps expense might not be the appropriate qualifier for purchasing adequate protection. This jacket is everything it is advertised to be and the fact that it is not "made in China" makes it 'THE CHOICE' for me. Now if we could just get some quality footwear made in North America, as well.
