Canari Tri Cycling Shorts (For Men)

Only wore for a 10 min spin on bike. Padding is indeed minimal, not going back far enough to get any on the cheeks (but perhaps that is bike shorts in general - I've never worn any). But of course that is intentional as it is striking the balance for all tri events. Looks / feels good.

Quality construction, flat seams, comfortable. The length is shorter than a standard bike short - perfect for warmer weather. Padding is minimal, but well placed and effective.

Elastic band around the thigh feels a little too tight. If you got cyclist thighs, you may want a higher end product.

It is very difficult to find a pair of triathlon shorts for training. These are probably the best out there considering the cost. They are not made for swimming pool and its chemicals. So they do wear down. After several months of wear they become looser and can become revealing. The other options aren't much better though. They cost more---sometimes much, much more. And they aren't built for the pool. So that's the pool/swimming description. They are ok on bikes. The Chamois is small, but useful. I can't see how having a large amount of padding water logged after you swim is a good atribute for a pair of tri-shorts. These are fine for shorter lengths on a bike. But, I imagine if you're an Ironman triathlete they might not measure up. They aren't that bad to run in at all. Since the chamois is small and the length isn't that long it doesn't hinder your stride length too much. Bottom line: Good for short (sprint) triathlons. And not much more can be expected of them considering the lower price than others.

First time out. Felt great but the material seems light weight, almost cheap.

Good shorts with minimal padding but enough for around town and shorter rides. Work well with riding then swimming then riding. Problem is the size of the padding is too small witch means the seams cause chaffing when worn for longer period or multiple days.

Bought these while training for my first sprint triathlon. After about a month of swimming twice a week they started developing holes. I rinsed them immediately after swims with the exception of one time. Not enough padding to be exclusive bike shorts and not durable for pool swimming. Maybe if you only use them in open water they will be OK.

This is a good basic pair of tri shorts. If you are just going to do one tri or maybe a few sprint triathlons, then this is a good way to go. Not good for daily cycling, these are for beginner triathletes.

Fits the bill for my first sprint tri. Padding is more than adequate for a ride under 50 mi. Only caveat is that it seems the legs will tend to ride up a bit despite the rubber grips; I'd rather just not have them for comfort's sake. Excellent price!
