I'm 5'10"-175 lbs. w/ 34" waist and the large in these shorts is a good fit for me. One reviewer stated that the rise was low, but I found this to be a good thing as another pair of shorts I have from a well known maker the waist just folds over with the higher rise when I'm in riding position.

Reviewed by Cycle Michael from Seattle on Wednesday, December 26, 2012The pad in these shorts has a lining sewn over the edges to reduce chafing. Also, the amount of padding is a little lighter, which also helps. These are my favorite shorts for my winter indoor classes and for long rides. When my wife found out that they were closeouts, she bought four of them because we have not found any other shorts with a lining that softens the edges of the pad like this.
