    The shirt is well-made, with nice detail: stitching looks sturdy, two pockets (one with pen slot), long tail (no plumber's bottom). However, it's not canvas. It's a medium weight plain weave cotton. Heavier than poplin, but not as heavy as oxford.

    I have been wearing the Carhartt Tradesman shirts for several years now and they work great for me. It seem that the material has changed a little, it is more slick it seems, but it does not change my opion of the shirt. These are very comfortable shirts and they help put forward a profesional apearance. I wear them everyday doing everything that plumbers do from roto rooting to new construction. They wear very well and stay good looking.
