Perfect hiking design but....

I was having trouble finding a short that had deep pockets, didn't go down to my knees, in other words - functional. Carhartt almost did it, but, they blew it on the flimsy material - I got a hole in them the first day I wore them. If you do hikes where you don't occasionaly do butt slides on rock, they'll be fine, but I just found that they were not rugged enough. Wish they'd make them out of their duck canvas or one step lighter than that.
