Carhartt Double Front Jeans - Dungarees (For Women)

I've been looking for some rough work pants: the kind you wear to do virtually anything, and if the stains and snags could talk, they'd be able to sell your biography. These Carhartt pants fit the bill. I'm still looking for the issues that make them 2nds--possibly there's some variation in leg length among the pairs I bought, but not enough to be a problem. I'm on the curvy-hip side, and these fit and wear very comfortably. I also *ahem* fluctuate between a couple of waist sizes. I bought the larger size, and they're perfect. They'll only fit better on my next downsize swing. I think they are designed more for full hips than for full waist, so if your stomach is bigger than your hips you might do better with a size larger than normal. I'm not sure though. They haven't been washed yet, so I can't speak to the shrinkage potential. These are not high-fashion pants. You're going to look seriously tough in them, but they're tuned for a visit to Home Depot or clearing brush from your yard, not for your salon appointment. That being said, they're not bad-looking. I think they look nicer than, say, some of the 5.11 pants I own, but hey: at day's end they're still heavy-duty work pants. If you really care what they look like, you're probably not doing any activity that requires these pants in the first place. The fabric is heavy denim, much thicker than the 5.11s. They'll be pretty toasty in full summer sun. Pockets are deep; not girl-pants pockets. Most of the front leg above the lower calf is double-thick for extra durability. The color is a nice warm brown, but that's just what was available at this site. I'd have bought them in pretty much any color at these prices. Bottom line: great pants.

These are really well made pants - thick, tough, durable- and exactly what I wanted for rockhounding and gem hunting, as the knees and thighs are what get a beating when out crawling around in the dirt and rocks! I did read the reviews, so ordered up one size to 14 (I am a 10 or 12 depending on cut). Well, the waist was still so tight it was uncomfortable and felt like it would saw me in half, though the rest of the pant fit nicely. I re-ordered in the size 16 (yikes! the sound of this makes me cringe)....anyway, I am hoping the waist will fit comfortably and I do not care if the rest of the pant is baggy. My husband won't care and the rocks will for sure not care! lol

I didn't notice any blemishes, they fit well. I returned them only because they are really heavy and stiff. I thought they might be, but I had not tried them before. I have never been a jeans fan so I should have known. Oh well. Great pants, fabulous deal!
