I wear these every day when I do volunteer work in Appalachia. They take all the abuse I give them and still no rips, tears, or failures. Fantastic product at a great price.

I've owned several pair of these over the years including other brands and from experience these are the best. The shoulder straps on another brand would constantly slip off my shoulders but the Carhartt straps stay put and they have elastic sewn into stretch when you need them to, like bending over and squatting. These also have another pocket on the left thigh in addition to the one on the right leg. One thing other bibs have that I'd like to see on these is a dedicated pencil pocket. Some others have one between the two chest pockets but not these. The fabric is quite durable, there's been times I caught them on stuff that would rip some fabrics but when I look to see if they ripped, no tears. The seams and rivets have never failed nor the snaps but I don't snap the chest pockets closed that much. All in all, very useful and durable. Love having lots of pockets since I always carry lots of stuff, tools, flashlights, knives, etc. They are quite expensive if purchased at retail but smart shoppers can find great deals at Sierra Trading Post. S**rs want over $90 a pair but since I timed it right with a coupon I got these for less than half that price! (Thanks for a great deal, Sierra Trading Post!)

Note: the first pair delivered had one of the shoulder strap buckles missing, how that missed quality control is surprising. Sierra Trading Post handled this very well, immediately shipped another pair. Excellent customer service!

Carhartt makes the best, highest quality bibs. I wish they fit better. I'm a big guy and ordered my usual waist and inseam size. The bibs are still snug around the mid-section

Iv'e been buying these Carthart overalls for years, they only last me about 6 months or so. (I'm a Sheet Metal Worker). Anyway I buy them mostly from or sometimes Ebay or some other websites, but they are all about the same price,$55-$59.Then I came across this website Sierra Trading Post and they had the same Overalls on sale for $49.99 and then I found a code for 20% off anyway I ended up getting them for 36.99 . Holy S___! At that price I added a few more pair and bought 4 total. I can tell you I will be shopping at Sierra Trading Post more often!

    • Answer The recommendation for a 36" waist measurement of this particular model is to order a size 38 if wearing alone and a size 40 is wearing over clothes. The inseam is going to be as listed on our sizes.
Answered on 12/14/2010 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
    • Answer I wear 35 x 34 jeans. As I wear the overalls over my jeans, I use 36 x 34 overalls. I'm tall and lanky. If I had much of a belly, they might be little tight. They are plenty long enough, but I don't think I'd order them 2" shorter, especially if I didn't wear them over my pants. I've bought some 34 x 34 in the past, but I only use them by themselves, and they are a little bigger than snug. HTH
