I also have the Carhartt heavy-weight hooded sweatshirt, which is totally great, but the one thing is the hood is kind of useless in that it's not big enough to go over the head and stay up - therefore I don't like to wear it with jackets that already have a hood on it. But don't get me wrong it's awesome and sooo warm and well fitted. Also with this one, its very very warm a little less thick, so fantastic for layering, fits to a tee, and looks great too . I'm 5'9" 145-150 lbs (depending of the week) lean but not scrawny, and I got a small in both of them. they fit amazing. (form fitted, but not tight). What's nice also about this one (without the hood) is that the mock neck is effective around the neck so that I don't have to necessarily wear a turtle neck or a neck gaiter on colder windier days here in Chicago and the small fits my neck to a tee also without choking me. My neck is just shy of 14.5 inches but a little over 14.25. There is what seems to be a flexible plastic-like bar that runs through and down the front Zipper seem a bit and through and around the top edge of the mock neck, which holds it up and in place, but you can still fold it down to have the collar down and stay in place also. Never seen a technology like that before but it's really cool and it works. Highly recommend this sweatshirt as well as the heavy weight Carhartt hooded sweatshirt.

Carhartt Simply makes nice quality goods, from work wear to casual. True to size, comfortable, and warm

Color is rich, weight and feel of sweatshirt-knit is good quality, and design is stylish and flattering.

I bought this for my husband and LOVED it on him. He looked really stylish and I instantly made the rule that this is not a work sweatshirt, it is a "nice" sweatshirt (i.e. for walking dogs, going to museum, casual dinner out, theater, etc.). My husband ruins things quickly if such rules are not made. (No, I am not a controlling witch, I am a loving wife who grew up in a family of dainty women, and who now runs herself nuts trying to keep my crazy man clothed, and attempt to understand how he manages to destroy clothing without intending to).

So, treated nicely, this has held up beautifully, and I expect it to for a long while.

I loved it so much, I bought the Small for myself. I was a little afraid it would look too manly on me, but the S was very fitted for my size, and it actually looks like an entirely different garment when worn fitted, and comes off flattering and feminine enough that way.

So for man or woman I highly recommend this!

size was not close to a mens 2XL. Could not come close to being able to zip it up. Actually fit my wife well, who is a womens medium. That tells you how off the sizing is!

great price for a nice heavyweight zip up without a hood. It is a more fitted cut, not a loose or baggy sweatshirt.

  • Question “what exactly is a Raglan sleeve?”

Asked on 11/23/2012 12:00:00 AM by Bob from Unknown
    • Answer A raglan sleeve is often used when making items of clothing such as sweatshirts, certain types of jerseys, and other sportswear. The construction is different from that of typical shirt sleeves, because it has a seam that goes from the underarm straight to the neckline. A raglan sleeve is only one piece, instead of several pieces sewn together and attached to the shell of the garment. This style makes shirts easy to move around in and very comfortable. There is no shoulder seam in a garment with a raglan sleeve.||Shirts made with the raglan sleeve design tend to be more casual. T-shirts with short or three-quarter length sleeves are often made this way. In many cases, the raglan sleeve is made from fabric of a different color than the rest of the shirt, creating a sporty look. For even more visual interest, each raglan sleeve may be a different color, while still another color is used for the front and back pieces of the shirt.
