Carhartt Nylon Jacket - Insulated (For Men)

io am 42 often stand in the wind and rain. short in front if you are taller than 5'7" get the tall. i am 5'5" fit is great. sleaves dont strap down that is what i would change, but they do have a secondary wind catch in the sleave stops most all of the wind you never feel any, overall this is a real nice jacket.i would like a different color

Ordered 3 different Carhart coats as gifts and hoped to keep all three as each had it's variations that could be nice. But only one fit right all were same size. This one was a bit short over all and did not fit comfortable. The neck especially was difficult to get to lay flat instead of poking straight up with little option to turn it down more comfortable position. Over all we returned it.

Although I remarked that the sizing feels "too big", please don't let this deter you from purchasing this jacket. I have an odd sleeve length for my size, so the body of several jackets I have purchased in the past tends to be oversized to make my sleeve length just right. I do intend to wear this jacket with some layers underneath in rather cold and snowy climates while camping and riding UTV's in higher elevations. I'm sure this will fit the bill and keep me as toasty as other Carhartt jackets I've owned. I think this jacket is a good choice for all-around outdoor protection. I have not, however tested it in rain or heavy inclement weather. By the way, I've also tried another company's "knock off" of this style of jacket, and the fit was awful, sleeve length way too short, and the protection factor was way below par. Stick with the professionals at Carhartt... they've been doing this quite a while.

The sizing was awkward. We ordered a large, and the sleeves were about a medium and the chest and waist were an xtra large. This would fit a short, stocky man. We will be sending it back. We live on a farm, all family members have Carharts, love the brand, did not like this coat.

My husband loves carrhart for cold weather when working outdoors

Great for rough outdoor projects and chores.

I got this jacket for my husband. He needed a new winter jacket. He likes Carhartt brand because in his line of work he deals with contractors and home repair. The jacket seems warm (for Georgia winters), but fits stangely--somewhat short, and puffy at the bottom. Husband says he likes it. We'll see if he will actually wear it.

I ordered this Carhartt jacket after seeing some of them at double the price in my local stores. I should have tried them on before I ordered a medium; it was HUGE on me. Size issues aside, it's a beautifully-made garment, and plenty warm and rugged. Worth noting is that the bottom on this particular model doesn't have a cinch (something I've noticed has been remedied in the 2010 models now available in local retail). Because of the size issue, this went back.

good jacket very durable

This coat is replacing an LLBean coat I had for six winters. Given that I ski, I have a ski coat that I wear when the weather is just plain too cold, but I like to have a slimmer coat for everyday wear. Also, I work with two ambulance services, and I was hoping for something durable and professional to wear on calls if I don't need anything reflective, and this fits the bill. The coat is a bit puffier than I had anticipated, and the bottom is large with no way to cinch it in, so unless I add something, it won't be favorable for skiing. The pockets on the outside do not zip, but I knew that at the time of purchase. The coat is very warm and seems to be of high quality. Carhartt is dependable...but no bottom cinch/snap adjustments is not typical of Carhartt.
