I have several pairs of this style of shorts in a couple of different colors. Was waiting for these colors to be on sale and ordered them immediately. They fit well, have many pockets, which work well for wallet, cell phone and anything else I need to carry. Definitely recommend them.

Husband was sweltering in his carhartt pants, If these shorts hold up as long as they look like they can, they are perfect, and awesome. So many pockets, the washer is not safe now!

Pretty much everything about these shorts is great, with the exception of the front pockets. It would be nice if the front pockets were a bit deeper, and the cut slightly fuller, for more discreet concealed carry.

These are what I always expect from carhartt, well made and thought put in. pretty much ideal work shorts but gotta say they are pretty solid so therefore warm. if you're somewhere really hot these may not be for you. ideally if they were made a little lighter they would be 5 stars all the way.

I love these shorts and use them all the time for my summer carpentry work, very durable and handy.

No defects of any consequence have been found in multiple orders of this item. They are substantial and well constructed. The nylon wear elements are well placed. Overall layout is thoughtful, practical and well executed. Wash well without fading or shrinkage. These shorts dare you to try to wear them out.

  • Question “Why is there never a size 31" waist?”
Asked on 7/1/2015 6:52:34 PM by TwoSizesTooSkinny from Buffalo NY
    • Answer In some lines, Carhartt makes 31, 33 and 35 inch waists. In general, the 100% cottons run a bit smaller than the poly cotton blends.

    • Answer I would suggest a size 32. These are cargo pants and look best with a loose fit. My son got a pair to wear to work as a greenskeeper at a golf course and he LOVES these shorts. They are rugged with lots of pockets for tools and gear. I tried to order a pair for myself and they didn't have my size.

    • Answer Suggest you buy a size 32 and use a belt, these shorts run quite slim, I could have purchased a size larger to have "work room". Still a good deal.

    • Answer I really don't know. My husband is 5'11 - 150lbs, and the 32's fit him in the shorts. The ripstop isn't a light fabric, but very durable.

    • Answer I really don't know. you would have to ask the manufacturer. Perhaps, real men don't have that small of waist! ;)
