I wanted some overalls that I could wear primarily while shoveling snow, and also while camping. The heavy cotton is perfect for standing around a campfire and repelling those pesky embers that come flying at you. Any other material would get a little hole - but not these pants! I stay nice and warm, too!

My granddaughter works at a horse barn and was complaining how cold she was, saw the carhartt on your web site and ordered it for her. No more complaining about the cold now, she is as toasty as one can be. Great product!!!

I am 5 5 1/2 and weigh 145 and got a 10, and if i had known how big these would be I would have bought a 6. but they are so heavy they would cost more than i paid to send them back. These are super warm, super heavy and super un flattering but have their own carhartt charm. I just ordered the wrong size. You could maybe make these look cute by ordering 2 sizes too small. i am keeping them because i can be out in 20 below and feel toasty.

If these are 2nds, I can't see why! Wear these every cold morning working in and around barn. Slip over jeans with no problem and are nice and warm. Easy to work in.

  • Question “Are they fully insulated from top to bottom or only up to the waist?”
Asked on 11/26/2012 12:00:00 AM by Kurt from Unknown
    • Answer ltem 57654 is insulated to the waist.

  • Question “Can you tell me the length of the upper section of the bibs (on a size 6)? I have a very short torso and am concerned that I will not be able to shorten them enough.”
Asked on 10/3/2011 12:00:00 AM by Emily from WI
    • Answer I am short waisted, many petites fit best due to this, and while I should wear a 10, purchased a 12 to allow for layering for cold. In the 12, the waist hit me in exactly the right place. I do not think you would be able to alter the upper, but you could shorten the overall straps easily even beyond where they currently allow, to adjust for your upper body length. The upper was surprisingly comfortable.

  • Question “What is the length of this Overalls? Also I have never purchased a Carhartt product before, and I normally wear a size 10 do I go up one more size?”
Asked on 9/25/2011 12:00:00 AM by Fire gal from Goldendale Wa
    • Answer We have the Carhartt Sandstone Bib Overalls available in inseam lengths of 30, 32, and 34 inches. If you intent to layer under the overalls it is recommended that you order up a size.

  • Question “Are the sizes backwards? I noticed, for example, the first one says "Inseam: 10 Size: 32". I don't want to end up with a size totally wrong for me.”
Asked on 3/2/2010 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer The inseam is 30, 32, or 34. Looking at the site though, it shows the sizes correctly with the size being a 2-20 and the inseams being 30-32 accordingly. I hope this helps.

  • Question “Why is the photo of the black overalls showing a different design than the photos of the tan and brown ones? Will I get what's in the photo if I order the black or is this a mistake? If it is a different design, what are the differences in fit or materials?”
Asked on 1/22/2010 12:00:00 AM by Music teacher Margaret from Mid-Missouri
    • Answer This exact reason is why they could be seconds. Often times companies tend to make the same style in a different way or different material and that is when they get passed on to us. It's just a cosmetic flaw that most people wouldn't notice unless compared to the others. The material is the same in these, the straps just come in a little closer, if were to look at the picture think of the browns being stretched out from the sides and they would look similar.|Since we have various stock you should only get that design in the black versus the other colors.

  • Question “on the sizes. what does size 4,8,10 mean.”
Asked on 1/10/2010 12:00:00 AM by bigmc from seattle wa

    • Answer These are women's/ladies dress sizes. My daughter usually wears a size 6 in ladies clothes, so that's the size I bought her in these. Just be advised, the other size (30, 32, 34, etc.) is for the length of the legs. These run REALLY long (in my opinion), so just error on the side of short rather than long. :)||Hope this helps.

  • Question “If you wear a size 10 in the carhartt jeans, should you order a 10 in the coveralls?”
Asked on 12/1/2009 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer If its for cold weather, order a 12 or so, so that there is room for extra layers, sweatshirt, etc to fit undernear-you want some room.
Answered on 12/13/2009 12:00:00 AM by Winter Workwear wearer from Iowa
    • Answer Yes.
Answered on 12/22/2009 12:00:00 AM by Spike Buck from Springfield, MO
    • Answer I wooldn't. In fact, these are big. I wear a Carhartt work jean in size 2, and ordered a 4 that was available in the Sandstone bibs. They are huge in the butt and legs..and plenty long..the 32 inseam is longer than the 34 in the jean or about the same. The top and waist is smallish, but still allows room for at least one whole layer of clothes. If you want to wear these as true coveralls, then be assured, you can wear a 10 over top of 10 jeans, with plenty of room left over.
