Carhartt Sandstone Chore Coat - Blanket-Lined (For Men)

The poor quality of this coat is not what you expect to find in a Carhardt brand.My husband has worn Carhardt coats for over 30 years and this is the first time that we are extremely unsatisfied with one of their coats.Had I noticed that it would be a "second" I wouldn't have ordered it.It just does not have the sturdy feel of a quality coat that we have come to expect from Carhardt. The collar is black instead of brown, and the color should be duck brown not sandstone.If you are looking for a traditional Carhardt Chore Coat then this is not the one for you.[...]Buyer Beware on this coat.

Charhartt chore coats are great for comfort and durability. I've had one for 15 years and it was time for another. I ordered a 2nd and can't tell it from a number 1. Great coat.

I ordered this for my husband. He has worn Carhardt work coats for over 30 years. I failed to notice the disclaimer at the very bottom of the order page stating that this would be a "second" or not exactly perfect coat or I would not have ordered it. So be sure to look for this disclaimer before ordering.The coat is not up to the Carhardt standard of excellence that we have been used to. It is much lighter and the color is not a true Carhardt "duck brown". Also, the collar is black, not dark brown. This coat just has a "cheap" feel to it. It is referred to as a "chore coat", but the code numbers on the tag are not the same as an actual Carhardt chore coat from the manufacturer.All in all we were so unhappy with this coat that we sent it back (at a cost to us).I ordered one from our local dealer of Carhardt products for [$], just a few dollars more than this site charges.My advice is this: "You get what you pay for" and "Buyer beware".

Several reviewers have complained about the lining. I purchased one of these coats several years ago, and although the lining initially didn't impress me, it has held up very well. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another, if this one ever wears out.

I love this jacket and if I didn't have so many other carhartt jackets would wear this one all the time it's so stylish and is too good to use for chores and get dirty so I wear it for good

I did not think the recycled lining would be a problem for me (I try be "green" when I can), but it has a cheap feel that I just couldn't get past. I returned this one.

Very nice sandstone, blanket linning is Okay.

I work in construction and this coat keeps me warm and does not limit my mobility.

Purchased for my teen-age grandson for hunting/fishing/camping and general outdoor wear. He thought the jacket was a "super" gift.

We live in a moderate climate in South-east Queensland Australia, we have a cottage up the Great Dividing Range where the temperature drops to below freezing, this coat is now our new best friend and it handles the change better than we do.
