Carhartt Sandstone Sierra Hooded Jacket with Sherpa Lining (For Women)

This jacket is very heavy but too bulky and stiff. The stiffness will probably wear out, but I found it too hard to wear. It's very well-made, nice color, and warm, but too stiff and bulky for me. It also runs shorter than most outdoor jackets.

The picture does it justice. I just thought that it wouldn't be too short. The jacket runs high and stops just shy of your waist. I was looking for a jacket that ran a little lower to cover some of the pants for more warmth. This jacket is more for teens that want it more for looks than warmth. Cute but not long enough.

This coat arrived and it smelled like a famous name brand laundry detergent. Since I'm allergic to perfume I washed it, which wasn't a problem. Before throwing in the wash I measured the length from the drop tail hem and it was 24" on size med., not the 25 1/2" as specified. It also didn't fit as well as the one I tried on in the store lengthwise. The one in the store was a bit longer and slightly tapered in at the hips. So I can only surmise someone washed and dried it before returning and it shrunk or else this is why it is a second or both. However, at this price it is a wonderful coat. I love the sherpa lining, nylon lined sleeves, storm cuffs, heavy duty zipper, and hood. I was out in 30-40 mph wind, with 50-55 mph gusts and the wind moved me, but didn't get through the coat! The pockets are extremely handy and I like how I don't have to baby this coat along. Also, don't have to take some layers off to wear this coat. I get a lot of appreciative looks and compliments on this coat, too. Highly recommend.

Love this coat. I work outside alot and I never have to worry about getting cold.

This coat is great when its cold outside. When its windy you still stay very warm. I like this jacket very much.

This was a birthday gift for my 17yo very country girl daughter and she has hardly taken it off since we gave it to her. She spends alot of time with her animals outside and needed something that will hold-up well yet at the same time looks good. She has usually worn her dads and brothers old coats but has always wanted a Carhartt of her own and she is so pleased! The color looks great on her and kudos to Carhartt for giving women a choice of colors that make them look and feel feminine even in a barn mucking out stalls! We saw a coat exactly like this at a local store for quite a bit more, so we feel we got an excellent deal and as other reviewers have commented, you can't even figure out what makes it a "2nd". I have never ever been disappointed with Sierra's merchandise and will continue to shop here!

I wish it would get cold here so I can wear my new coat. It feels like it's going to keep me warm. It's so durable it seems like it will probably last forever. I like the coat because it fits, (tiny bit large) and you can wear layers under it. I got the coat at a great cost. I just waited until Sierra Trading Post had a good sale. They give you the chance to buy products at the best prices I've seen.

For a work jacket, I love the style! This jacket is everything it should be, though it is not super warm.

I took a chance on ordering an XS, as that was the only size left. Thought I'd perhaps need to return it, bacause I normally order SM. This jacket worked out great! Fit is perfect, not tight, the "jacket" doesn't get in my way while trying to do things. Sleeve & jacket length fits just fine. Lining is nice & warm. Quality from Carhartt never lets me down. Love it!!
