    I wear Carhartt vests under a windproof or waterproof layer in severe conditions. I often wear it under a flannel shirt as my winter work outfit. I shovel snow, and work up fire wood in the vest/shirt layering system. Wood chips and debris do not stick to it.

    Disappointed that flaw on back of item was so noticeable, but able to use for work. Way past an acceptable second. Ordered two, only one was available to be shipped.

    I will use the vest for work when it is cold, but not cold enough for a big coat. I love the tall length so it comes down long enough over my waist. It was not quite as large through the chest as I would have liked. I have another one that is not sandwashed and it is a little larger through the chest, but may not be once it is laundered.
