Returned because they were too small. No bigger size available. Otherwise great looking jeans.

reading reviews and considering my previous experience buying Carhart pants I ordered 25 waist (I have 27 waist) and I can not get them buttoned. excellent quality of the fabric and cut of the feet is excellent, but it's not available in my true size.

These are some of my favorite jeans. They've become my working/hiking/outdoor jeans, so they are now too stained to wear to work, but another pair is on the list now. They fit well and are the lowest rise pants I have seen from Carhartt. Even though I don't have the world's best figure, low rise jeans fit me the best and are comfortable. They do gap a bit in the back but I almost always wear a belt, so that is not an issue. I like the 7 belt loops since I often wear a pistol in a holster, which needs the support of a good belt. I may try the Curvy fit as well but it looks like a higher rise pant. I wasn't sure about the fabric at first. It is a thinner denim with some stretch. I thought it would wear or rip, but it has not. Hiking, camping, working on cars, landscaping, and general rough use have not worn them at all. The one thing I do NOT like is the inseam. I have a problem with women's inseam sizing anyway. I am on the tall side of average, but the 34" length that I ordered is not as long as other "long" or "tall" jeans that I have, and closer to another brand I have marked 32. Since these aren't "dressy" jeans I ripped out the hem which is closer to the correct length. I wish there was more consistency in sizing women's pants by length.
    • Cons: Gap In Back
    • Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Casual, Outdoors

Was very disappointed with the sizing and cut. Way too small, two sizes, and cut way too low. Carhartt should stick with classic jeans.

    • Describe Yourself: Classic
    • Inseam: Feels true to length
    • Waist: Feels too small

  • Question “Because "modern fit" means different things to different companies, I have no idea where to measure myself for the proper size of this jean. I normally wear a 12 or 14 in women's clohing, if they are American designers, as foreign-made clothing is too short for me. I am 5'10", and usually wear a 32" inseam pant. Please, if you can, tell me what size I would wear in this jean, if any at all. Thank you.”
Asked on 3/5/2011 12:00:00 AM by Gforce from Terre Haute, IN
    • Answer Please refer to the following chart: http://www.carhartt.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SizeChartView?catalogId=10101&storeId=10051&langId=-1&chartImage=Womens_Size_Chart.jpg

    • Answer I would order the smaller of the size ranges you wear. So, for you, a size 12. I have found that Carhartt runs a tad big on their sizing (waist and length). So I would recommend the size 12 and the 32" length should work out just fine.

    • Answer I have 2x30 in the traditional fit canvas pants. The 0 might have fit okay, but I got a 2 so I could hike them down a tad.||I got size 25x30 in the modern fit. It is a smaller fit, but the waist sits where I want it from the get go, so I'm happy. ||Be aware though, the hips are definitely smaller in the modern fit. That makes me much happier, but if the originals fit your hips well, take that into consideration. I think if you go by the hip measurement on the Carhartt size chart, you should be okay.

    • Answer I'm 5'4" and typically wear a 6/8, often petite. I bought the 29x30s, and 30x30s in these jeans and both fit well.

  • Question “Don't understand the sizing on these pants. Does "29" refer to waist? Hips? How does it relate to misses sizing? The Carhartt size chart doesn't make any reference to this type of sizing.||Thanks,|Annie Rengel”
Asked on 4/19/2010 12:00:00 AM by SoCal Refugee from Star Prairie, WI
    • Answer These are sized to waist measurements and also list the inseam of the jean. The modern fit is a normal fit jean that is classic.
