    I got this coat as a supplement too my Sorel winter jacket that is insulated with thinsulate. A superior coat but is one piece and is ill suited for say a through hike or section hike of the A.T. Which is why I got this parka with its zip out vest. It's a great jacket for long hikes through different climate zones. My sorel coat is winter only but is a super sweet jacket.

    This is a great working coat. It has a lot of features that come in handy when on the job. The media port is an added bonus. Also the vest is comfortable, warm and a great fit.

    I ordered this in the spring to take advantage of a sale, so I have not worn except to try it on. It seems to fit well with room to put another layer or two underneath. So I can't comment on how warm or waterproof it is. I believed earlier reviews that said it was both.

    I gave this a good reveiw a few months ago, but have to return it. It is awesome when I'm in my work positioning harness and helmet, but when I tried to put on the hood the zipper would not work. The biggest drawback is that the waist drawstring is in the liner, but not the shell. I was working on the ground on a bitter windy day, and it was ballooning up and chilling me down. It is not worth the price with these combined defects.

    I vary in size between a Large and XL. Ordered a XL first, but it was HUGE. The L was a good fit with the liner attached, but I would not be able to wear a bulky jacket under this. Very tough fabric, which means it is stiff too. Can't have it both ways. Heavy-duty zippers and snaps on the zipper flap. I like it.
