I bought these to wear when I am taking care of the horses in the rain and snow. They are waterproof, but breathable. A little bulky, but affords the protection needed from the elements. The side zips and snaps are great. You can make the ankle opening smaller or larger by adjusting the snap/tabs. The velcro side/waist straps, let you adjust the waist where you want it. I have not worn them in the summer, but they may be a little bulky for warm weather. I think that they are worth the price tag. I almost didn't get them, because they seemed high, but I am glad that I went for it. These pants will last a lifetime!! Tuff stuff :-)

I do a lot of work outdoors - start in the spring, end in the fall. I walk, kneel, sit, crawl for rangeland restoration work. These pants are durable, fit easily over long unds and pants. Wish there were side pockets, but having them come apart at the side seams is great for pulling on and off and having to use the bush in the field.
