Seems straight forward but make sure you know how your foot feels in a set of Carnacs before purchasing. This pair replaced another pair of Carnacs, so I knew from experience that I should buy a half size larger than I normally would. The buckle/strap system works fine and is not hard to use.

Overall, this shoe is positioned as the top Carnac shoe. To a certain extent, it deserves this positioning. It is well built, comfortable and it possesses an innovative magnetic closure system. However, the reality is that the shoe is heavy and the closure system more hype than benefit. I find the closure system offered by the Notus, while low tech, infinitely better -- easier to tighten. The shoe is okay but save yourself the money and look at the Carnac Notus -- a better shoe.
Best Uses: Everyday riding, Long-distance riding, Sprinting
Cons: Difficult to adjust, Finicky Closures, Heavy

These shoes were narrow and too long for me feet. But, the deal breaker was when the clear material on the closure began to peel away from the fabric after the first ride. If you ride in a really hot area the shoe would be good. Also have narrow feet!!
