I wear a size 11.5/12 and have a wide foot. Have found that the 45 in this shoe fits pretty well. And I generally like riding in it a lot. But I have had some seams come loose. Not sure if that's a typical problem with the shoe, but it bums me out given that it costs so much and I bought it so recently.

These are great shoes that run a half to a full size small, and are built on a narrow last. [My poor toes!] I liked these shoes enough --especially at less than half MSRP-- that I ordered a larger pair to see if they would accommodate my feet.

Seems like a good shoe, but 41 was too big and 40 was too narrow in the toebox. They need half sizes.

I wear a 48 to 49 euro size. (US 13D) these were a bit small and too tight in the toe box, otherwise a well made shoe.

Great shoe for the money. Have used in 75 mile ride right out of the box. The shoe doesn't come in half sizes. ALthough the shoe fits, I could go down a half-size with good results.
    • Best Uses: Long road rides, Lower caliber races
    • Cons: Doesn't come in half-size
    • Pros: Good Power Transfer, Good shoe for the money, Runs try to size, Stiff sole

I have been a long term bicyclist. As a result, I have owned a large number of different shoes (SIDI, Carnac, Specialized, Lake..). As a rule, Carnacs have for me been typically French -- well built but with a narrow toe box. The last Carnacs that I had that worked well were the Greg Lemonds (that gives you an idea of how long I have been riding). When these Carnacs came on sale, given the price, I had to try them. Well, they work and they work well. They are well built (what else) but more importantly they fit well. In riding, they are comfortable. Also, with the very stiff sole, you get good power transmission. These are great shoes -- up with SIDIs. I am very glad that I got them since the SIDIs that they replace were difficult to buckle up. A great shoe at a great price -- what else do you want.
    • Best Uses: Any type of riding
    • Pros: Durable, Fits Properly, Stiff sole, Well built

These are nice shoes and you can't beat the price. I have purchased other Carnac items in the past and fount them to be worth the money. These shoes seem to be well built although I did not get a chance to try dues to sizing issues. Being a US 10.5 with a semi wide foot I first tried a 44 at the suggestion of an agent. They were too short and the width hurt my feet just sitting in a chair. I then tried the 45 which wee a tad long but seemed to be too loose fitting. The shoe gets very narrow at the toes. The shoes states on it US 12 Eur 45. I think that they are closer to a US 11.
    • Cons: Wierd fit odd proportion
